Bob was born in Atlanta, Georgia to parents Francis and Ethel Lee on May 16th, 1932. He attended Grady High School and then went on to earn a degree in Architecture from Georgia Tech in 1954. He entered the Air Force and flew the USAF's first jet bomber, the B-47 Stratojet, as a pilot based out of Walker AFB in Roswell, NM in the mid-50's. After the service, he returned to Atlanta and went to work as a Graphic Designer where he met his wife, Gail Boone. They married a few months after they started dating in 1959. Bob joined The Coca Cola Company where he worked on the iconic brand. Several years later they moved to New York and settled in Northern Westchester County with their two daughters. He joined Lipincott and Margulies (now Lipincott) a leading Corporate Identity firm. He then founded Lee and Young Communications and worked with clients American Express, Chevron, Prudential and more. The family moved to Pound Ridge, NY in 1974 where Bob and Gail lived for the next 47 years. In later years, he formed Lee Communications Inc. Bob and Gail moved to Brookdale Assisted Living in Wilton in August 2021.
Graphic Design was one of Bob's passions along with dogs, videotaping his grandchildren and tennis. He played tennis into his 80's before he was sidelined by a knee injury. Bob loved bringing his dogs to Spencer's Way dog park in New Canaan and made many friends (human and canine) there. He leaves behind a vast legacy of slide carousels where he captured every aspect of his children's lives when they were growing up. He added to his collection with videos of his two granddaughters and many family events. The family's life stories are documented in this collection and will not be forgotten.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Gail Boone Lee, his daughters Meleisa Lee Holek (Chuck) of Darien, CT and Stephanie Lee (Rob) of Naugatuck, CT and granddaughters Samantha Lee Holek of San Diego, CA and Lindsey Marie Holek of Stamford, CT and three nieces. He also leaves behind his sweet rescue dog Spinnie. He is predeceased by his parents, sister Virginia Kornegay and brother Gene Lee.
