It is with great sadness that I’m unable to join the family in honoring my beloved Brother, whom I love so much. Unfortunately, I’m still recovering from Covid, Omicron, that I picked up the last week of December when I flew to NY for Christmas with hopes of seeing all of you. The long term effects of fatigue and coughing have me too weak at this time to make the trip from Florida to Connecticut. Thank God Edward and I were able to speak shortly before he died and once again said I LOVE YOU.
All My Love Always Edward from your little Sister, Brenda (Waters) Mahoney

Mr. Waters,
It was an honour to have known you and work for you. You were a unique, kind, generous, funny, and I could go on and on all day with all the qualities that you had.
I want to thank you for believing in me. I worked hard because I knew you believed in me. You believed in all of us because you had the ability to see things in people that others did not. And for that reason, you were truly special.
You loved your family so much and you always talked about them.
You cared for your clients and worked so hard for each of them even though sometimes they did not understand the process.
You cared for your employees as if we were your family.
You are now resting in peace and in your forever happy place.

My papa lit a fire within me to learn about the world; as much as possible, and as often as possible. He was always a source of stability and steadfastness in our family. He was quick witted until the end, always quizzing me on my geography knowledge to keep me up to his speed.
My senior year of high school he took me on a northeastern college tour. We stopped at UConn, Tufts, and Wellesley (where I ended up going). He had done his best to keep up with the constant walking, but by the last stop (Wellesley) he was too beat to join me. He told me to go on ahead. I looked back at him, making sure he would be alright without me. He was all smiles. “Go and have fun, sweetheart,” he said. I headed on towards the pursuit of knowledge, that light we both ran towards.
During my last FaceTime with him I recited his favorite piece of trivia. He looked around, in recognition, I’m sure. He meant so much to me. I’ll always miss him, and I’ll think of him in his red Mercedes, picking me up after school for a cheeky lunch at backstreets. Always making me feel special. I love you, papa.

The Waters family is and will always be my second family - with Ed at the helm! His jokes, his stories, his giggle! He is already dearly missed. Ed’s unconditional love and bright light live on through his beautiful children and grandchildren and through everyone who saw him as family. Sending my love and prayers xo Jane
