Keith Barker, a longtime resident of Darien, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015 at Stamford Hospital. Born on September 28, 1950 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Lawrence C. Barker and Ann Zangrillo Sherwood. Keith graduated from the University of Rhode Island and was a 35-year owner of The Gardener's Center and Florist. To know everything about Keith, you just need to visit the Gardener's Center. He was a member of the Wilson Point Yacht Club, the Darien Boat Club and the Darien Chamber of Commerce. He was also a longtime sponsor of a Darien Little League Team. He is survived by his son Kristoffer J. Barker; two sisters Kim Barker and Karen Byrne; and his companion Cathy Kardos. He is also survived by his step-mother, Ronnie Barker and her three daughters, Kitt, Kristie and Kena. He will also be missed by his beloved dog Anna and all the Gardener Center crew and pets. A memorial gathering will be held at the Darien Community Association, 274 Middlesex Road, Darien on Monday, July 27, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A private family burial will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery.
