Ellsworth "Dave" Foggin passed away peacefully on Monday, November 22, 2010 at Danbury Hospital. He was 81 years old. Born on October 24, 1929 on Staten Island, NY to Ellsworth Foggin, Sr. and Mary "Minnie" Maher Foggin, he was the eldest of three children.
Dave attended St. Mary of the Assumption School and graduated from Port Richmond High School and Wagner College on Staten Island. In 1955, Dave married Patricia Harris. They have three children, Sr. Mary Ann Foggin, SGL of Ann Arbor, MI; Judy McCusker (Thomas) of Weston, CT and Patricia Foggin of Norwalk, CT. There are two grandchildren, Katherine McCusker and Margaret McCusker. He was predeceased by both parents; his brother, Robert Foggin and his sister, Mary Alice Foggin.
Dave worked for United States Gypsum from the time he was 18 years old until retirement. His career took him all over the United States and was a source of both achievement and fulfillment for him. His greatest achievement, however, was his 55 year marriage at Pat Foggin, whom he always referred to as "my girl."
Dave fought a long and heroic battle with pulmonary fibrosis and Alzheimer's disease for the last several years. His last days were peaceful.
