Obituary of Lyle Dean Grant

Lyle Dean Grant a resident of Darien since 1958 died on October 15, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Julia Victoria Grant; four children, Jordan Grant, Michael Grant, Victoria Grant and Connie Grant; and three grandchildren. He was 76 years old.
Mr. Grant was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955. He graduated first in his class at the U.S. Naval School for Construction in Fort Hueneme, California in 1953. As a Seabee, he built a parking apron on airport runways in Argentina, Newfoundland; and in Naples, Italy he was personal driver for Brig. General Earle Wheeler. He has been a member of the I.U.O.E. Local Union 478 for over 50 years and helped to build I-95 through Fairfield County.
The family will receive friends at Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road in Darien on Friday, October 19 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held 11 AM on Saturday, October 20 at Talmadge Hill Community Church, Talmadge Hill Road, Darien. A private burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
