Sal was a favorite patient of mine when he lived in Columbus. We just had a very special bond and he was just the sweetest patient a caregiver could have. The family knew me as Latalya and even after we parted ways, I always kept in touch. I was honored to care for this man and share in special events, such as when his granddaughter Kate was born in 2007 and when his grandson Vince was born in 2008. I got to know his daughter Jennifer and son-in-law Pablo as well as his grandchildren Isabella, Olivia and Vince, who was a newborn at the time. I also met his daughter Karen, son-in-law Andrew and grandchildren Jack and Sarah and came to know the family very well. Sal was very special to me, near and dear to my heart and he will be missed. My condolences to Ruth and the family; I know this was a hard loss to bear.

David and I were so saddened to read of Sal's passing in our local paper. We shared many fun times in our early Manhasset years. We will remember Sal fondly as a friend and as a wonderful husband and father. Ruth, our condolences to you, Karen, Jennifer and their families.

Sal was one of my first friends in Manhasset. I have many fond memories of our time together. On sunny Friday afternoons Sal would pick me up in Manhattan and we would play hooky from work and play golf. He was always a better tennis player than me but we had fun on the courts. Times together with Ruth and Barbara were also very special. Goodby old friend.

Sal you are my dearest and closest friend.Our history spans over 50 years starting as football rivals back in the N.Y. high school football league. Next we were both recruited by Boston College and chose to be room mates.Your support, encouragement, and positive attitude got me through some tough times.After graduation you honored me by being my groom when Pat and I were married.We were in Vietnam at the same time and later you were Godfather for my daughter Susan.I have so many good memories of us.The ones I treasure the most are those we shared with Ruth and Pat during our recent visits together. Sal you have been on a life journey and now it is time to rest. REST WELL MY BROTHER
