Obituary of Carol Lanzit

Carol Lanzit, a resident of Fairfax, VA and a former resident of New Canaan, Darien and Manchester, CT, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014 after a valiant battle with Parkinson's Disease in Farifax, VA. Born on November 21, 1934 in Mankato, MN, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Emma (Schmidt) O'Connor. She was 79.
Carol graduated from UCLA in the mid 50's and was a proud member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. She was a teacher in the Stamford school system for many years. She enjoyed playing bridge and dominoes and working in her garden while in Manchester, and also had a lifelong love of cross-word puzzles. She was predeceased by her husband Steve Lanzit as well as many beloved brothers and sisters. She leaves behind two children, Stephen "Rusty" Lanzit and his wife Anne of Chaplin CT., and Tori Lanzit of Fairfax Va. Also two grandchildren Steve and Taylor Lanzit, and many sisters, nieces and nephews. Carol loved everyone and always had a kind word and a quick smile for all she met. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Viewing will be at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien CT, from 5-7 PM on Friday, February 28, 2014. A Mass will be held on Saturday, March 1st, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien.
