It is my pleasure to have worked for and reported directly to John throughout the period Princess Hotels operated in Freeport. I am sure he must at times have regarded me as a 'pain in the neck', as my responsibilities did not always involve the conveyance of good news to him! He was most certainly a man of integrity and his watchword to me was that Princess should never be allowed to contravene the laws of The Bahamas. I learned much from the example John set by his own conduct, which was always professional and extend my condolences to Elizabeth and all his family. May his Soul Rest in Peace.

"Mr. Price" I hope you know how many lives you touched and what an huge impression you made on all of us. One of my favorite stories to recall is when my flight to Acapulco was delayed because the plane caught fire. I was in charge of getting our new laptop to ACA and refused to leave it on the burning plane. I knew I couldn't do that to "Mr. Price!" So down the shoot I went with the laptop around my neck! John always represented the pinnacle of all that was worthwhile following for me. He was a senior in a major organisation and if I could only end up half as good as he was I would likely be alright. My earliest remembered gift from John was a model Concorde along with other souvenirs from his flight. They were cherished for many, many years and no doubt inspired me to push along with my struggle in the world of aviation. It would have been my pleasure to welcome John onto the jump seat of my aircraft and show him just what goes on up the pointy end but I have dragged my heels on this it seems. John loved cricket and I enjoyed listening to a radio commentary with him occasionally. One of my favourite memories is having John drive us 'home' from the Metropole in London in 1985. I know John loved golf. I gave up golf at the tender age of 14 because I was so incredibly bad at it. I silently promised myself about 10 years ago that the only other person I would ever play the game with again was John, and only to give him a laugh. I noticed that my young children remember John to this day mainly because of his large presence and also because of the activities we undertook on the occasions John and Liz were in New Zealand. The New York t-shirts that were given were much loved. John's attitude and treatment to his staff at the Princess Hotels certainly stands out. He certainly sets the example to follow. I don't think I have ever heard John angry or upset and he sets the example in this regard. Rest in peace John. With much love, Trevor, Angela, Chantelle, Theresa, Jonathan & Derek.

Mr. Price will always be "Mr. Price" to me. Although he started to insist that I call him John I just never could. Mr. Price gave me a career opportunity over 20 years ago that was the foundation for everything I am both personally and professionally today. When PHI was sold to CP..he was the one I said "good bye" to last. And as I started to cry in his office about an ending-he told me "this is only a beginning for you!" Then he offered me his furniture and his TV--which I took with us. He played a father figure to me and although room nights are what counted--for me what was even more important was when Mr. Price told me "job well done"..or a visit from him in my cubicle/office where he would just sit and listen to me sell. (it made me so nervous). Thank you Mr. Price--for believing in me when I was insecure and for creating this path for me into this wonderful career. I hope I made you proudfor it was you who taught me so much. I only regret that you did not see our brand new offices at 805 3rd Ave. It was the greatest feeling going back...just like going home! I will never forget you! May you rest in peace! Marla Bedrosian

I remember being on a camping trip on the kafue just up from Hippo pools with the folks and John and Liz being there. Good times. Also many good times when John and Liz visited us in Australia. One memorable moment was when we were all sitting on our deck at Creswell Avenue Charlestown (Newcastle Australia) we had these old deck chairs. Well the one that John was sitting on collapsed and he was left prostrate on the floor (still in control) he looked over to Liz and said "Does your brother have a good lawyer" that was his sense of humour, we will miss it. It must have been in 1955 that I first recall meeting this very big boy. I was about five or six so John must have been well into monosyllabic adolescence. He didnt hang around much during this family visit to his home in Chichester, Sussex. My parents, Peggy and Bunny, were long standing friends with Cynthia and Frances John, Jane and Annes parents with Peggy and Cynthia being first cousins and Bunny and Frances both then working for bus companies, as I recall. Jane was tasked with looking after me, which she did dutifully and engagingly. For me, a big 5/6 year old, Anne was then just too small to be of interest!. But its Johns largely unseen presence that I recall most vividly. This was a very big guy. And thats how John has remained.. a big presence in the family. Even though we have met up with John and Liz only every few years at family events - some sad, some celebratory, many at Jane and Richards house - being part of the same extended family has always felt good. Ill miss, but also remember well, that big, warm, presence.

Dearest Liz, Andrew, Susan and Jennifer We are aching with sadness as we send you all our deepest sympathy on the heartbreaking loss of your beloved John, Dad and Grandad. Such a very special, wonderful man and we loved him too. We thank God for his life, for you Liz, and the family he so adored and cherished. We shall remember him always with great affection and joy. We feel so blessed that we had that time together in October, that you and John saw all of our tribe, and that the Johns spent an entire day on the sofa glued to The Ryder Cup final round - what bliss for them both! You are all in our hearts and in our prayers. With lots and lots of love, Hilary and John xxxxx

I never had the pleasure and fortune to know John very well but since he took over from me as President of PHI all of our associates had nothing but praise for John as a professional and a human being.....Working for Tiny was never a walk in the park and to last that long at the Head of one of his favorite enterprises says a lot about John. My deepest condolences and prayers.

In 1985 I sufferred a near death accident and John, as President of Princess Hotels came to visit me, an employee, in the hospital. This unforgettable visit says much about this fine man. A kinder, friendlier, and more beneficial leader, I will never find; best memories of my career. My heart and prayers go out to the family and all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy and loving thoughts are with Liz, Anne, Jane and family and all those who, unlike myself, had the privilege of meeting this wonderful man who obviously lived his life to the fullest and along the way he listened to those in need, followed his heart and took time out with his family, Polly and for himself on that beloved golf course. May happy memories enter your hearts and laughter fill the room when you think of him in the years to come. Lisa.

"A good head and heart are always a formidable combination" Nelson Mandela. John Price had both and it is appropriate that the quote above covers the essential ingredients of our long friendship with John and Liz. From Nurses' Home in Salisbury 50 years ago to Inyanga, Darien and Blaine, wonderful memories of a devoted father and husband, and a thinking observer of the times. John will always be in our hearts - until we meet again. We love you Liz. You too are in our hearts and our prayers. Hilary and Michael

Memories go way back to Northern Rhodesia, someone I looked up to a person who new were he was going, obviously he had a good woman making sure he was on the right track. John rest in peace, love always. George, Kath, Kelly and Karla.

I'll always remember how much Mr. Price impressed me when I visited their house as a teenager. He challenged his kids but also had so much fun with them. I also remember how great he was with numbers - like a human calculator (very cool to a 13 year old getting C's in math)! He was a wise and wonderful human being, and he leaves a space that cannot be filled. My thoughts are with his family, whom I have long admired, especially my dear friend Susan.
