Obituary of Mary Carriero Russo

Mary Carriero Russo, a resident of Darien, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Stamford Hospital. Born May 2, 1919 in Port Chester, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Vita (Colangelo) Carriero. She was 95. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She is survived by her husband, Angelo J. Russo of Darien; her three children, Theresa Kranyak of Maryland, Grace Hanafee of Norwalk and Anthony Russo of Florida. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Debra Requa of Maryland; Michael Frate and James Nyberg both of Norwalk; Karen Marino and Dean Russo both of Fairfield; and Jason Russo of Georgia; seven great grandchildren and a sister Rosemarie Nomack of Seymour, CT A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.
