1957...El Paso, Texas...Fort Bliss...Young couples far from home...We met and bonded - for life. I treasure the memories of those early years..."have yourselves a Merry Little Christmas"...happy times that lasted from Colorado to Connecticut...children, laughter, births, always picking up where we left off, viewing Vermont in Oct through the eyes of a true son of New England, taking in NY from the World Trade Center just 6 yrs before it's fall, trading political barbs, being far away but never far from the heart. Rest well, Flip my friend, say Hi to Arnie for whom you shed tears, and now,Carol, I weep and grieve with you. Thanks for the memories, dearest. And to your dear family, I'm so sorry, you lost one of a kind. With all my love,

Dear Family, In the days ahead we hope you will remember the good times so they may soften the sadness of your loss. Several memories we have are the Christmas dinners in Maine, listening to your Dad's stories and his hearty delivery of them at the holiday dinner table. I smiled when I wrote this and hope you will too. We feel so fortunate to have met your Dad. In peace, Noel James & Richard Ammons

We have many memories of Flip, dating back to 1954 when I was rushed to join his fraternity. Alas, I joined a neighboring group, but we always maintained a friendship during our college years. Post-Middlebury we stayed in touch through various events in Fairfield County - in later years as fellow entrepreneurs. CeCe and I have enjoyed attending college reunions while residing at the Middlebury Inn with the Terhunes. Flip was a loyal supporter of the college Class of 1956 and an active agent - maintaining contact with fellow classmates to augment the Annual Fund. We will miss his energetic enthusiasm in many areas of endeavor!

I had the great privilege to get to know Flip over the last 15 years. We both worked in politics and served on the GOP State Central Committee. He was a good friend and a good guy. My condolences to his family.

The world won't be the same without Flip. Among many things, I will miss his sense of humor, enthusiasm for politics and the Red Sox. Most of all, my family and I will miss his friendship and support spanning many years. To Carol and family.....heartfelt condolences.

I am probabley not supposed to sign in this book since it is for the family but I need to celebrate my wonderful father. He was the most special man I will ever know and I will always treasure my memories of him. I don't really know how to say goodbye to him but I want to honor him and remember him as the very special father and grandfather that he has been. I wll always love you daddy, Beth
