Joan K. Taylor, a resident of Darien for 55 years, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Greenwich Hospital, Greenwich, CT. Born in 1930 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Alice (Brennan) Knapp. She was 78.
Joan was a long time secretary at Tokeneke Elementary School. She was a violist with the Stamford Symphony and had a great love for the Darien beaches and Long Island Sound.
Joan is survived by her husband Samuel G. Taylor; three sons, Eric G. Taylor, Christopher K. Taylor and Jeffrey R. Taylor and one daughter, Lisa Taylor. She is also survived by four grandchildren and two sisters, Barbara Sharon and Patricia Hetzler.
Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, CT on Sunday, May 4, 2008 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 132 Glenbrook Road, Stamford on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan.
