Thomas E. Sharkey, a 30 years resident of Boynton Beach, FL and a Darien resident since 1949, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011 in Boynton Beach, FL. Born on February 5, 1918 in New York City, he was the son of the late Thomas A. and Frances L. Sharkey. He was 93.
He is survived by two sons, Daniel J. Sharkey of Darien and Thomas J. Sharkey of Volcano, CA; one granddaughter, Krystina A. Edwards and three great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Helen Nelson Sharkey in 1985.
The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Friday, September 16, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.
