Martha C. Miller, a long term resident of Darien died on May 12, 2008 at the Skilled Nursing Unit at Edgehill in Stamford, Connecticut where she had been living for the past year.

Born April 6, 1923, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, Martha Kate was the daughter of the late Mary B. Noel and Ray Childress.

In addition for 14 years she taught the work of Teilhard de Chardin in the Guild for Spiritual Guidance. For more than three years she appeared throughout the country in a one-woman play on the second half of life that she wrote and performed for the national Episcopal Church.

She is survived by her son, Brian D. Gold of Forest Row England, Brian's wife Melanie and their children Alicia and William.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Luke's Church in Darien in July. Memorial donations may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 1864 Post Road, Darien, CT 06820.
