Obituary of William Jordan

William "Buzzy" F. Jordan, a resident of Sherman, CT and a former long time resident of Darien, CT, lost his 16 month battle to pancreatic cancer on Sunday, September 25, 2011 with his loving family by his side. Born August 15, 1933 in Darien, he was the son of the late William J. and Mary Loretta Jordan. He was 78.
William was a graduate of Darien High School and the CT State Police Academy. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked 20 years as a Darien Police Officer. He also worked for Bennett Chevrolet, Reynolds Ridge Senior Housing and was a freelance worker. He was a member of the V.F.W. He also loved his farm and pets.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Edith Flemming Jordan of Sherman, CT; two daughters, Janet Reed and her husband, Jim, of Darien, CT; Jackie LoPiano and her husband, Chris, also of Darien; two sons, John Jordan and his wife, Ann, of Sherman, CT and William and his wife, Paige, of Monroe, CT; and nine grandchildren, Jordan, Megan, Ryan and James Reed; Josh Jordan; Alexa and Hannah LoPiano and William and Carly Jordan. He is also survived by a brother, John W. Jordan and a sister, Beatrice Czako both of Darien. He was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Torok. His wife, children and grandchildren were his life.
The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Thursday, September 29, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Interment private.
