Obituary of Hazel E. Stanizeski

Hazel E. Stanizeski of Norwalk, CT, passed away peacefully at Norwalk Hospital on September 30th, 2011. Born on September 3rd, 1918, Hazel was a certified shipyard welder during WWII. Since then Hazel had held many positions, the most important being a loving wife and mother to her husband and three sons. Hazel was predeceased by her devoted husband Wallace. Both were active members of Ischoda Yacht Club and the Knights of Columbus. She is survived by her son James Stanis and wife Mary of Bethel, son Gary Stanizeski and wife Sharon of Norwalk, and son John Stanizeski of Norwalk; grandchildren Sara, Lindsay, Gary Jr. (and their mother, Lori), May, James, Jr., Robyn, Robert, Holly, Thomas, Therese, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Mary Chancey of Florida and sister in law, Elda Wilson of Louisiana. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle, 203 East Avenue, Norwalk on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Darien.
