Obituary of Barbara Wilkes Silbersack

Barbara Wilkes Silbersack, a resident of Darien, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Stamford Hospital. Born September 14, 1948 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Henry George and Lena (Michalski) Wilkes. She was 72 years old. Barbara received a Bachelor’s degree from Newton College. She worked as a marketing executive for the Financial Times. She is survived by two sisters, Suzanne O’Neill and Patricia Wilkes and a brother, Richard Wilkes. She was predeceased by her husband, John Wayne Silbersack. Along with her husband, Barbara was a life-long lover of animals, especially her cats. The family will receive friends at the Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 9:00 – 10:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas More Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan.
