She cared deeply about her family and friends and derived great joy and happiness from spending time with them. Carolyn was always interested in listening and learning about what was new or interesting in their respective lives. Whether it was sitting on a beach, playing bridge, golf, sharing a meal, or just socializing, Carolyn was known for her caring, wit, inquisitive and manner. Carolyn was dedicated to many charitable and civic causes throughout her life, including serving on the Board of the Museum of Darien (formerly the Darien Historical Society), the Darien Beautification Commission, the Advisory Committee of Notre Dame's College of Arts and Letters with Gerry, the Darien Representative Town Meeting, and Garden Club of Darien. When she was not donating her time and talents to those causes, Carolyn was an active member of Wee Burn Country Club, The University Club, and the Wianno Club.
