Macdonald Budd Obituary

Long time Darien resident, Macdonald Budd, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2024. Mac was born on February 18, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York to Reginald and Margaret Budd. He attended the Collegiate School where he was subsequently on the Board of Trustees. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Virginia in 1954 and graduated from Harvard Law School in 1957.



Mac worked for many years as an attorney in New York City. He started his career as an associate at Willkie Farr Gallagher Walton & Fitzgibbon. He became a partner at Morris & McVeigh in 1968 and was a partner at Manice Budd & Baggett at the time of his passing.



Mac was a member of the University Glee Club, The Squadron A Club, as well as Wee Burn Country Club. He loved the town of Darien and was actively involved in the community. He served as Chairman of the Board of Education in the 1970's and was involved as a coach and administrator with Darien Little League, Darien Junior Football League, and the Darien Youth Hockey Association. He was honored by the Darien Old Timers Athletic Association for his commitment to the town in 2014.



Mac is survived by his wife of 69 years, Agnes, along with sons Mac (Elise) and Tony (Sabrina) and grandchildren Alexandra (Mike) Mastrocola, Vanessa, Daphne, Reid, Tucker, and Mckenzie. A family service was held at Oak Lawn Cemetery on October 11th.
