Louisa Manly-Power, 72, passed away on August 26, 2024 in New Canaan, CT after a long battle with dementia and other medical complications.
Louisa was born on February 8, 1952 to Donald and Louisa Manly-Power in Philadelphia, PA. She was raised in Chestnut Hill and attended Springside and Stevens Schools from which she graduated in 1970. While at Springside, she excelled at field hockey, squash and tennis and could always be found at the Philadelphia Cricket Club during her school years and many years after where she continued her passion for racquet sports. She also went on to be the Director of The Tennis Farm, taking over from her own mother, where she loved to teach tennis to children of all ages. While she had a competitive spirit, she loved to laugh and could find the humor in almost anything.
In addition to sports, Louisa was a dog lover whose passion for canines ranged from boxers to golden retrievers and labradors.
But nothing in her life compared to the devotion and dedication to her three sons, Stuart (44), Richard (42) and Bruce (40). She was a loving mother who always put her children and grandchildren before anything else. She is survived by her three children, sister Lea Kusner, two nieces, two nephews, and seven grandchildren.
