Oh how I loved your Mom. From the days of baby sitting Germana and Peter, since we were neighbors to my wedding your mom always had a beautiful smile and warm hug. Such a classy lady. It is wonderful to have had your mom in my life
She will be missed, but we all have special memories of her.
Love to you and your family

Kay left an indelible memory as a remarkable female role model: strong, passionate and empathetic! As Germans’s childhood friend, I fondly remember spending time in her presence and seeing her riding her bicycle all around Darien

Charles Buchanan posted a condolence

Hello all, my name is Buck Buchanan and, to keep this brief, I was a youngster of about 13-15 years going to school in about 1950 at "Black Fox Military Institute" in Los Angeles. My mom and dad were Kathleen Thompson and Charles Buchanan, who lived in Coronado, CA and were dear friends of Doreen Campbell, Kay's mother who lived in Los Angeles.
I spent all my free time out of school visiting with Kay, her family, brother Billy and almost became a family member with on and off meet ups all my life. We loved Kay so much and her kindnesses. My wife Cristina and I stayed with Kay for a long weekend last fall, in 2023.

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Kathleen?
A: She had interesting stories she shared with me of meeting the love of her life in later years, how they met and fell in love, she also shared pictures of her younger and her fashion style as that of Hollywood stars, one of her qualities I admired her artistic background, her colorful paintings and her little card drawings were so unique and enchanting

We knew Kay through Wee Burn, Jim, and picnicking (since 1981) at Wee Burn. She was always beautiful in body and spirit. Her picnic table was always as pretty as she. Mostly she would have already played tennis and had a swim. My other thanks go to the fact that she always bought Girl Scout Cookies from our 3 girls. And so did Jim before they were married!
We will miss seeing her lovely smile at the Beach Club. Michael and Holly Watts

Kay was one of my Mother’s closest friends for as long as I can remember, back to when I was a teenager. She was the most loyal friend anybody could ask for. Love you, Kay. John Goodwin
