Obituary of Edward Martin Koorbusch

Mr. Edward Martin Koorbusch, of Greenwich, CT and South Yarmouth, MA, passed away peacefully on March 3rd, 2024.

Mr. Koorbusch, the son of Edward Henry Koorbusch and Mary McKeon Koorbusch, was born on November 24th, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York. Known to his family and friends as Ned, he graduated from New York Military Academy in Cornwall in Hudson New York in 1955 and earned his A.D. in Business Administration at Leicester Junior College in Massachusetts in 1957. While studying there, he met his wife Kathleen O'Donnell, whom he married on May 2, 1958. They were happily married for 66 years before his death.

Ned and Kathy settled in Greenwich, CT, where Ned and his father owned and ran the Esso/Exxon Gas Station on West Putnam Avenue for almost 40 years. He and Kathy had four sons who all attended Greenwich High School: Edward, Daniel, Todd, and Timothy Koorbusch. During that time, the family enjoyed many wonderful voyages on the "Kathy K", Ned's Viking Sport Fisherman, where they spent many happy summer months.

Upon his retirement in 1992, Mr. Koorbusch and his wife moved to South Yarmouth, MA, and enjoyed all the pastimes that Cape Cod has to offer. He continued to go boating and fishing, play golf, and worked as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels with Kathy. His children and 13 grandchildren have many fond memories of their time spent at the Cape Cod house and loved visiting "Pop". Known for his quick smile, generous spirit and love of laughter, he will be missed by all his family and friends.

Mr, Koorbusch is survived by his wife Kathleen, his younger brother Dr. Gerard Koorbusch and his wife Barbara Koorbusch, his sons and their wives; Ed and Sharon Koorbusch, Dan and Tracey Koorbusch, Todd and Lynn Koorbusch, and Tim and Lisa Koorbusch, and his 13 grandchildren; Connor, Westen, Chase, Daniel, Mac, Owen, Hannah, Peter, Olivia, Michael, Eliza, Emilia and Jillian.

A memorial will be held at St. John's Church in Darien, CT on Friday, April 19th, 2024, at 11:00 am.
