Andrew, I will always appreciate being w/ Jackie and learning so many life lessons from her. She was such an amazing person. A tough of nails New Yorker. Smart, sharp, honest and able to teach so much w/ even trying to. She will be so missed. I am truly happy that I have gotten to know the two of you. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful and amazing wife w/ me. Please know that I hope we can share the very best of Jackie and keep her spirit alive for others. Know that I am here for you through thick and thin. With love and respect, Monique Bongartz

When I told my sister that Jackie Strumpen-Darrie (she didn't know her married name) had died, she said: "I always thought she was one of your coolest friends!" That summed Jackie up to a tee....Everyone always thought that Jackie, the slim, beautiful, blonde in her mint green T-Bird was the coolest! We became friends at the beach in Larchmont, New York before we even attended The Ursuline School in New Rochelle for high school and remained lifelong friends. Jackie was not only beautiful but smart as a whip with a sarcastic cutting wit! As is mentioned in her obituary by Andy Pasheluk, her husband, she became a competitive bridge player. I played bridge with her in her fledgling days and can attest to her acuity. What most people don't know is that we were original fans of The Rascals as Felix Cavaliere of The Rascals was from Pelham and we knew him from high school days. We originally saw them at The Barge in Westhampton and followed them wherever they played in NYC and environs! They became world famous and Jackie and I never tired of reminiscing about those early super fan days......I am greatly saddened by the news of her passing. May she rest in peace. My condolences to Andy, family and friends. Jeanne Neary Look
