Josephine Calvi (née Calve), beloved wife of the late Philip Calvi, passed away on November 20, 2023. A longtime Darien resident, Jo graduated from Darien High School in 1963 and Colorado Women's College in 1967. Jo enjoyed a successful restaurant career alongside Philip before his passing. Next, always a lover of fashion, Jo embarked on a personal career in retail which ended with her retirement after 17 years at Lord & Taylor. Jo was a friend to many. A great hostess, Jo loved nothing more than having her friends and family to her home where all were welcome. The eldest of eight children of George and Elizabeth Calve, Jo is mourned by her sisters: Linda Calve of Greenwich, Catherine Calve of New York City, Diane Calve of Norwalk, and Chrissy Miller of Baltimore. In addition to her husband and parents, Jo is predeceased by her siblings: Rosalie, Dominick, and Camy Calve. The family is receiving guests at Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Rd in Darien on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A Mass will be celebrated at St. John Church, 1986 Post Rd. in Darien at 11:00 AM, followed by interment at St. John's Cemetery.
