Over the years, and across the miles, I always enjoyed receiving a letter in the mail from Mary. Even before opening the envelope, I’d be filled with instant joy when I saw the cheery and well-chosen thematic stickers decorating the outside of the envelope. In our letters, we’d talk about our pets, special dishes we made for the holidays, and other wonderful slices of everyday life, much like the uplifting conversation friends would have in person.
