Obituary of Kenneth A Zerbe

Kenneth Zerbe, 49, died peacefully with his wife by his side in Darien, CT on April 10th after a long battle with cholangiocarcinoma.

Ken was born in 1973 to Allen Zerbe and Lee Denison and grew up in Utah. He received a Bachelor of Science from Utah State University, where he double majored in finance and economics and minored in psychology. After graduating from college, he moved to New York City to pursue a career in finance. He later received a Master of Business Administration from NYU Stern School of Business, where he was a Dean's Scholar and met his wife, Amy. Ken and his wife lived in NYC before moving to Darien, where they settled to raise their growing family.

Ken was passionate about family and his work in finance. Summer was his favorite season, as he loved spending time outside and travelling to Long Beach Island, Lake Placid, and Snowmass with his family, as well as the Hudson River Valley with his wife.

Ken worked at Morgan Stanley for more than 20 years in equity research. For 10 consecutive years, he ranked as one of the top three analysts covering midcap banks on Institutional Investor's annual All America Research Team. Over the past year, Ken wanted to help others looking to pursue a career in his industry. He joined various online forums to offer free advice on how to start a career in financial services.

Many people knew Ken because of his lottery pools. The number of participants grew into the hundreds, and he became friends with several of them. Particularly after his cancer diagnosis, managing the pool brought him a special joy.

Ken is survived by his wife, Amy Zerbe; their two children, Caroline and Luke; and his mother and stepfather, Lee and Jerry Denison. He was predeceased by his father and his sister, Mandy Denison.
