Very sad to learn of Matthew’s death. He was a superb medical registrar for the Endocrinology/General Medicine team at Auckland Hospital, New Zealand after graduating in Medicine, and his stellar career has been a source of pride to us locally. I remember Matthew from the 1980s when we both played for the Grammar Old Boys Hockey Club. I had not seen him for many years but remember him as a very nice low key person.

So many wonderful memories from Westport- Jewish holidays, runs, swims, July 4th fireworks and skiing in Vermont. How tragic to lose Matt so young. Very sorry for this loss. Sending love Vicki and Lloyd

Kerry I’m sorry I never had the chance to meet Matthew. Steve told me about the fact he was a golfer and I missed the opportunity to play a few rounds with him. I just finished reading his obituary and he had an outstanding life, and family. You were lucky to have him in your life. You both have two beautiful sons that can help you thru this part of your life. Once again I missed meeting a great man a good husband and a great father. Your uncle John T.
