As a child, I admired Charlie as a athlete watching him play Darien High School sports. As adults we became very good friends as our parents were lifelong friends. As we both worked for the Town of Darien, Charlie in building and I with the police, we had a lot of contact and inter action with each other. He was a great friend and true gentleman. I always enjoyed sharing a table with him at the Piedmont Club on men's night.
