Obituary of Lonnie M. Barber

Mrs. Lonnie M. Barber Hall of Stamford CT passed away on Saturday January 7, 2023. She was born on May 4, 1948 to the late Colel Cauthen & Tammie M. Barber.

She attended Emmett Scott High School in Rock Hill, S. C. and J. M. Wright Tech for nursing. She worked in the nursing field for many years at Stamford Hospital and ended her career at Courtland Gardens as a CNA in Stamford CT.

Lonnie had a strong relationship with God and loved her family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were her life. She was the life of the party, and to know her was to love her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Ms. Sonia A. Barber and a great granddaughter Princess Teyonna Taylor, one brother-in-law Mr. Albert Heath and a nephew Mr. Corey Heath.

Lonnie enjoyed spending time with her family. She would have you laughing until you cry.  She loved music, the beach, cooking, dancing, and taking care of her children, grands and great grands. She left so many fond memories that we all can cherish. The memory of her love for lemons and salt will stay with us always.

Lonnie leaves to cherish fond memories, her husband Mr. Martin N. Hall, her daughter Mrs. Felice C. Barber (Maurice), of West Haven CT. sons, Terry M. Barber of Stamford CT., Marcus J. Barber of Norwalk CT., five grandchildren, Quadirrah Barber, Omar Barber, Saadiyah Barber, Yolanda Wright and Kamron Wright., three great grands Shyann Calahan, Zuri Calahan and C. J. Wright., two brothers Charlie L, Barber (Deborah), Eatichia Barber (Deborah) two sisters Van Barber Heath, all of Rock Hill, S. C., and Joann Chisholm of NJ, a special cousin and best friend, Gloria Boger, two sister in laws, one of whom she reared as a daughter Roslyn Andrews, Mother in law Mrs. Virginia Brown, two brothers in law, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be truly missed.

Visitation and Services will be held at the Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, CT 06820 on Tuesday January 17, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
