Dieter was a friend and fellow member of the Darien Mens Club. We enjoyed hours together on the tennis courts and discussions about his beloved Porshe 911. My condolences to family and friends.

I worked with Dieter from 1990 till he retired. I was always at work early and I fondly remember visiting with him before many others arrived. We would discuss his trips to Switzerland and the pride he had in his family. In some rare instances we would also talk about business. I truly admired his intellect and his compassion. He was not shy about giving his opinion or advise. He was a pioneer in ballistic fabrics. He was also a mentor to many. He will be missed. I extend my wishes of peace and comfort to his family as they deal with their loss.

I am Mark (Margaret) Anderson. I worked with Dieter since 1994. I also changed jobs as he did from Springs to Clark-Schwebel to Hexcel-Schwebel to Hexcel and finally to JPS Composite Materials. He accepted me (Margaret, whom he knew from her traveling with me, and my eldest son, Jr, who wrote a HS class paper on Dieter - got an A). I felt right at home. I came to the Anderson Plant as a textile engineer and Dieter immediately began to teach me the ballistic business. I had several immediate supervisors but always reported to Dieter, He accepted many of my recommendations and we investigated the ones that were not accepted. In fact, we are co-inventors on a patent for a ballistic fabric. Dieter tended to not hold back information about the business he thought I should know. We travelled to many law enforcement and military ballistic trade shows while also introducing me to the industry leaders. I am very grateful for his support, leadership and friendship. He looked out for me. He often talked about Steven and Karen(Weimaraner). I miss him and I pray for peace for the family. May God bless you all.

I had the privilege to be Dieter’s personal trainer, first at the New Canaan YMCA and then the past two years working with him at home. Through diligence and determination Dieter fought hard to keep his muscles strong and flexible. During that time, I got to know Dieter, and I became to love him like a good friend. Though his illness had become debilitating, Dieter never wavered, and he still kept that wonderful dry sense of humor. Peace and Love to you Erika. I witnessed your tireless effort as his wife and his caregiver. Dieter was blessed to have a devoted family who took such good care of him. Deb Cardamone
