Kevin Edward Just, age 72, passed away in his sleep on May 23, 2022 "at home South" in Bradenton, FL. He was born on Sept 17, 1949 in Norwalk, CT, grew up in Darien and remained in Fairfield County for much of his adult life, most recently in Stamford.
He is predeceased by his parents, George E. and Marjorie N. Just, of Norwalk and his younger brother, Brian G. Just, of Branford, CT.
Kevin graduated from J. M. Wright Technical School in Stamford in 1967 and then joined the U. S. Navy. He did his basic training in Pensacola, FL, worked as a tool maker/ Engineer 'on board' then went on to become the ship's photographer: the U.S.S. Trenton. After his sea duty, he continued his service as a Naval recruiting officer in Stamford. He was so proud of his many recruits!
Upon leaving the Navy, he opened his own business in Darien known as "Just Hobbies and Crafts". The store quickly became a popular spot for customers and friends alike during the 1980's.
Upon closing the hobby shop, he went on to work in various craftsmen and contracting positions, most recently at the Norwalk Home Depot as a kitchen designer until his retirement.
Kevin created many friendships via his technical skills and willingness to share his knowledge. Anything you needed, you called on "Kev", and he was more than willing to help you out. He always wore a smile and had a joke or two to tell.
Kevin is survived by his loving partner, Jan Wilson who he had hoped to live out his later years with in Bradenton, Florida, his sister Kathleen (Robert) Schroeder of Webster, NY and a daughter, Jacqueline E.
