Jim and family I took Louisa’s place as Secretary at Stevens School when she left to pursue her dream. She was a special lady whom I admired and will never forget. We crossed paths many times working in the Stamford Public Schools. So saddened by her passing. Rest In Peace Louisa you did your work here now rest in God’s peace. Joyce Pinto

Jim & Jimmy
It was such tremendous heartbreaking and shocking when I saw “Louisa Calka” come up on my phone and the voice said “this is not Louisa, it’s Jim”. I immediately knew I was getting terrible news.
I only spoke to Louis the week before.I had the privilege of knowing of her illness. I really was praying she could beat this but God had other plans. He needed to have someone strong and powerful. Louisa was a tough but an incredible boss and most importantly one of my closest friends. When Kenny passed away, she was so supportive and always encouraged me.
I have known this amazing woman for 50+ years. She was the Secretary at Stevens School and I was the “young kid” at Hart School as the Secretary. After I retired from the Board of Education, I was called to work in the Research Department for a special assignment. Louisa happened to walk by and went to Personnel and told them she was hiring me for the Summer School Office for a year. My one year turned into nine amazing years. We were a team. I absolutely loved my job. I looked forward to going to work every day.
Jim and Jimmy - you lost an incredible wife, mom and Mimi. Her family was number one. Jim..you we together forever. You took such great care of her. Jimmy, your mom was so proud of you and I loved hearing stories about your three boys. I looked forward to Monday mornings and she would tell me stories about the boys.
Louisa - you can Rest In Peace! I will miss you terribly. I am incredibly sad that I cannot be there for your final tribute. Love you my friend!!

From the time I was a little girl, I was impressed and inspired by Louisa. She was elegance and eloquence, grace and determination! I’ve particularly enjoyed our relationship in recent years, and we looked forward to a post-pandemic reunion with her and Jim. Rest In Peace, Louisa. You will be missed. - Debi & Henry
