Obituary of Robert Brandon Walker

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert Brandon Walker died on May 17, 2021 at his home in San Clemente, CA, at the age of 38. Brandon is the son of Rev. Robert and Donna Walker, Darien, CT. His identical twin brother, Matthew, predeceased him on April 13 and Brandon was deeply distressed about this great loss. Brandon was born on March 20, 1983 in Dallas, Texas. In 1984 the Walker family moved to Darien, CT. He graduated from Darien High School in 2001 and earned a BA in Professional and Technical Writing from the University of Hartford in 2005. Brandon loved computer programming and dubbed himself "The Webmaster." While at Hartford he developed a program to enable blind students to navigate the university's website. After graduating from the University of Hartford, Brandon worked for FactSet Inc., a financial data company based in Norwalk, CT. He moved to Southern California in 2010 and worked for Ocean Hills Recovery Inc, in San Juan Capistrano, CA. He was grateful for his 10+ years of sobriety. In 2017, he helped his brother start 2Brosandatruck LLC, a moving company based in East Haven, CT. Brandon developed the website and online marketing for the company. Two years ago, he founded Local SEO Surge, a company specializing in website design and search engine optimization. Clients included restaurants, vacation rental companies, rehab facilities, and moving companies. Brandon loved being outdoors-- especially hiking and walking the beautiful beaches of Southern California. Crystal Cove beach was his favorite. He had a big smile, a dry sense of humor, and a huge heart. In March 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic, he created a GoFundMe page for grocery store workers in San Clemente. Intense workouts at the gym were part of his daily routine. When the gyms closed due to Covid, he developed "driveway workouts" and posted videos on Instagram to encourage others to keep fit. His Christian faith and church were vitally important to him. Brandon is survived by his grandmothers: Eileen P. Walker, Tulsa, OK and Evelyn S. Henry, Atlanta, GA; his aunts and uncles: Rev. Patricia Walker, Tulsa; Margaret and Brian Allen, Roanoke, VA; Millie and Jim Downs, Millidgeville, GA. He also has many loving first and second cousins. His grandfathers, Robert L. Walker and Robert E. Henry, his uncle, Robert E. Henry, Jr. and aunt, Helen E. Spence predeceased him. A celebration of Brandon's life and faith will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien, CT, at 11 a.m.(EDT) on Saturday, June 5th. The service will be live streamed on the United Methodist Church of New Canaan's Facebook page. Here is the link for the service: https://www.facebook.com/United-Methodist-Church-of-New-Canaan-186671444783203/live_videos/ A West Coast celebration of Brandon's life will also be held on June 5th at 3 pm (PDT) at Doheny State Beach, Dana Point, CA.
