I love you buddy. Only a day til you’ve been gone a year. You left to early. There hasn’t been a single day I haven’t thought about you. I often ask myself why? Why was I the one who saw you, why? I realized God knew I had the strength to handle it and to be able to support others while we were mourning our loss. You were an amazing, funny person. Never failed to put a smile on my face, always cracking jokes. You were there when I needed you as I was there for you. You were so incredibly smart, you took your study’s so serious and I admired you for it. I miss you buddy, keep watching over us.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Scott during his time in Onandaga. His boundless energy and constant smiles were infectious. He was loved by the whole village, always looking out for others and giving a helping hand wherever it was needed. He played an integral role in making that session a memorable one for so many.
He truly lead by example and he not only made an impact on his peers and fellow campers, but on me and staff alike. Its those relationships and experiences that make Camp Hazen such a special place.
I will have fond memories of the conversations we all had in the Pavilion at the end of a busy camp day.

One of the greatest memories I had with Scotty was when we went to a restaurant called Caddy’s, in Gulfport. We went with my mom and enjoyed the live music while eating burgers and shrimp. While we were there, there was this beautiful mural and I told Scotty to stand in front of it so I could take a picture. While I was taking a picture of him this group of people asked us if we wanted to take a picture together. I politely said no because I’m not much of a photo person, but right after I said that Scotty said “you know what, we would love to take a picture together”. After that we enjoyed the rest of our night at the beach watching the sunset. This is one of the memories that has stuck with me, and probably always will. Scotty was always there when I needed him or when he knew something was wrong. Not only was he a fun and loving guy, he also taught me how to love myself which I never really have until I met him. We will always love and miss you Scotty <3

With a lump in my throat, heart ache, and a emotion of unreal hurt. I had so many plans for you. To watch you take our Troop to the next level was amazing. Even if it was the same boys week after week. You made a difference, you will be truly missed. Along with hundreds of people I have a hard and long road to heal.

What ever secret pain you where in, there is no more. I know you are side by side with our Lord Jesus Christ. Look down from time to time, Myself and our Troop and Mr. Matt at the Academy are going to come together and complete your Eagle Project and add to it a "Memorial" / Eagle Project. Hello, my name is Kelly I’m a friend of Scott’s and I live in Chicago. I had the pleasure of being friends with Scott for about four years. What an incredible person. From reading me his poetry, to helping me make the decision whether or not to transfer schools, Scott has always had a special place in my heart. I remember this specific time where Scott and I called to do precalculus and the conversation ended up taking a turn for the better and lasted almost two hours with talks of military school, camp, our classes, friends, and even brilliant poetry we had read. It breaks my heart to think i cannot pick up the phone, but how lucky I feel that I was ever able to talk with and FaceTime Scotty in the first place. I already miss the good morning texts and the random check ins. He had so much love for all of you. I’m sending my thoughts and prayers, what an amazing person we were so lucky to have in our lives
