Obituary of Nancy Henry

Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Nancy Henderson Henry, 72, long time Fairfield, CT resident and beloved wife of Ronald J. Henry, Jr., passed away surrounded by family on April 1st, 2021.

Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her high school sweetheart and husband of 50 years, Ron; her children JJ (Lee), grandsons Connor and Carson - of Fort Worth, TX and Kevin (Megan), grandsons Griffin and Jack - of Estero, FL. Sister- in-law Sharon Henry Harder; brother-in-law Tom Hobbs; several nieces and nephews and many close friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Helene and Edgar Henderson and sister, Victoria Hobbs.

Born on November 17, 1948 in Baltimore, MD, Nancy grew up and later raised her own family in Fairfield, CT. She was a graduate of the original Roger Sherman School on the Sherman green, Mill Plain Jr. High School and Roger Ludlowe High School. She attended Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, VA before receiving her RN from Norwalk Community College. One of her proudest accomplishments was achieving her lifelong goal of obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree from UConn in 2004.

Nancy worked as a Pediatrics and Cardiology nurse for many years before joining her husband, Ron, and sister-in-law Sharon, to run the Ronald J. Henry Co., the family real estate and insurance business founded by her father-in-law, Ronald J. Henry, Sr. in 1937. She was a successful and highly respected Realtor for over 40 years and many of her clients became close friends.

Nancy’s favorite role in life was being a wife, mother, and grandmother to all her boys. She wore many hats. From team mom, to coach, to bus driver, no role was to big or small. From little league baseball, Wakeman’s basketball, and golf from junior tournaments to the PGA Tour, she was the boys number one fan. She was so proud of the lives and family they built.

Nancy and Ron created a wonderful life together. They enjoyed traveling the world and seeing new places but no doubt their favorite was waking up to the sound of waves at their home of almost 50 years on Fairfield Beach. If you were a family member or close friend, chances are you were lucky enough to have attended one of her many famous parties or holiday celebrations.

Love for others, kindness and generosity for everyone she met, and her commitment and role model for her family is how she will be remembered. The best party host in town and a brave fighter who always wanted to give to others. She made friends wherever she went.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on April 6th, Tuesday at 1030 AM directly in Saint Thomas Church, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
