Obituary of William (Bill) Slinsky, Sr.

William (Bill) Slinsky, Sr., a resident of Darien since 1965, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015 in Darien. Born on June 28, 1942 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Martin and Viola (Toth) Slinsky. He was 72. Bill graduated from Stamford High School with the class of 1958. He was a partner with the Stamford Auto Mart and A Tin Lizzy Car Rental. Bill was a parishioner of St. John Roman Catholic Church in Darien. He was a Special Policeman in Darien for seven years, a Deputy Sheriff for Fairfield County for 10 years and a Constable in Darien for eight years. He also was a bus driver/supervisor for CT Bus Company for 20 years. He is survived by two brothers, Paul J. Slinsky of Stamford and Gary J. Slinsky of Darien. Bill is also survived by four nephews; two nieces; two grandsons, Zack and Alan Slinsky; two great granddaughters and Rocky the Cat. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Slinsky in 2014 and a son, Billy Slinsky. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 14, 2015 from 11:30 AM to1:30 PM at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM at St. John R. C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien. Interment will be private.
