Obituary of Ann Marie Limatola Cappelli

Ann Marie Limatola Cappelli, a life long resident of Darien, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 14th after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on April 7th, 1940 at Norwalk Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Ferdinando and Mary Limatola, immigrant parents and longtime residents of Darien. Ann's joy and happiness came from the unconditional love she had for her husband, children and grandchildren. Early on she enjoyed a career as an X-ray technician at the former St. Joseph's Hospital in Stamford. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary at the Noroton Heights Fire Department and was a devoted parishioner at St. Thomas More Church. Ann will be remembered for her love of cooking, especially the traditional Christmas Eve dinner, and taking care of her loved ones. She was a devoted wife to her husband Angelo of 51 years. Ann and Angelo were inseparable and never spent a day apart from one another. In their retirement years they enjoyed traveling to their favorite destinations of Puerto Rico and Italy. Most recently they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and grandchildren on a cruise to Bermuda. Ann was a loving mother to her son Mark, his wife Kim and their daughter Mia of Darien, her daughter Sharon and her husband Stephen and their four children Kimberly, Kaitlyn, Kelsey and Steven, also of Darien. Ann's late son Steven predeceased her in 1995 of Leukemia. Her unwavering care for him was a testament to her true devotion to her family. Calling hours will be held at Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road in Darien on Tuesday, March 17th from 4-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas More Church, 374 Middlesex Road in Darien on Wednesday, March 18th at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Darien.
