Obituary of Laurie M. Smith Raskovic

Laurie M. Smith Raskovic, a Darien resident since 1992, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2006 at Greenwich Hospital. Born January 14, 1955 in Manhasset, NY, she was the daughter of Daniel L. Smith of North Palm Beach, FL and the late Carol Cunningham Smith. Laurie graduated magna cum laude from Boston College, majoring in Romance Languages. She received her M.B.A. from New York University and studied in France. She worked at Moody’s Investors Service from 1983 to 1992 as a senior financial institutions ratings analyst. She was a member of the Stamford Yacht Club and St. John R.C. Church in Darien. She was also very active with the D.C.A. and an active volunteer at King & Low-Heywood Thomas School. Besides her father, she is survived by her husband, Bran. A. Raskovic of Darien; two daughters, Diana Leigh Raskovic and Hailey Michelle Raskovic both of Darien; and one brother, Daniel L. Smith also of Darien. She is pre-deceased by two brothers, John C. Smith and Richard S. Smith. Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 10:00 AM. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in memory of Laurie M.
