Obituary of Paul S. Zajkowski, Jr.

Paul S. Zajkowski, Jr., a native of Stamford, died peacefully in his home on Friday afternoon. Born in 1922, he was the son of Julia and Paul Zajkowski. He served his country during World War II as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborn Division. For fifty years he was the proprietor of a Glenbrook gas station. He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Vera Candito Zajkowski; a son, Paul S. Zajkowski, III of Darien; two daughters, Carol Ann Zajkowski and Nancy Bigham from Stamford; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also, three sisters, Mrs. Julia Brown of Rochester, NY; Mrs. Jadwiga Bellos of Lake Wales, FL and Mrs. Stella Kelly of Austin, TX. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, September 11th at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien. A Christian Mass will be held at St. John R.C. Church, Post Road, Darien on Tuesday, September 12th at 10:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien following the Mass.
