Olga Bonfoey died unexpectedly and peacefully at her home early Tuesday morning in Darien, Connecticut at the age of 92. She died in the home in which she resided since 1950.
Olga Bonfoey is survived by her children; Michael Bonfoey and his wife Kelley of Lake Junaluska, North Carolina, Beverly Bonfoey of Darien, Connecticut and Gail Iannacone and her husband Al of Norwalk, Connecticut; sister Helen Hallas of Greenwich, CT; grandchildren Tekla Bonfoey, David Iannacone, Michael Iannacone, Lauren Kelley Brown; great grandchildren McKenzie and Abigail; special friends Joe and Sarah Licari and family, especially Jillian and Jake who kept her young at heart. Olga is preceded in death by Arthur Bonfoey, her husband of 57 years.
Olga Bonfoey was born on May 3, 1923 in Greenwich, CT to her parents Michael and Tekla Romanov. She was a graduate of Greenwich High School. During her life she worked as a clerk with numerous retail stores. After her retirement she performed volunteer work with Person to Person.
Olga Bonfoey loved life, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She liked to travel and she never met a stranger. She enjoyed good food as well as a good bargain and she loved to engage in a lively conversation.
