Obituary of Ruth Louise Jessup Peck

Ruth Louise Jessup Peck, a life long resident of Stamford passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 in Stamford. She was the matriarch of the Jessup Family and was the organizer of the Bottomly/Jessup family annual reunion. Born February 13, 1920 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin H. and Harriet Louise Bottomly Jessup. She was 86. Ruth graduated from Stamford High School in 1937. She worked for SNET for 29 years as a Service Consultant in Marketing. Ruth was a parishioner of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Stamford, a volunteer at the Rosenthal Hospice Residence, a former volunteer for F.I.S.H. and for Meals on Wheels for many years. She received the Senior Community Leader Award in 2006 and was a former recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award for Meals on Wheels in Stamford. She is survived by six daughters, Roxanne Fargason of Junction, TX; Allison and her husband Phillip Dolcetti of Darien; Suzanne and her husband Paul Holko of Brookfield, CT; Claudia and her husband Richard Broderick of Newtown, CT; Heather and her husband Michael Hennessey of Niantic, CT and Cynthia and her husband Ben Mitchell of Picayune, MS. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, one brother E. Calvin Jessup of Poughquag, NY and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husbands, Walter A. Heppner, John F. Patterson, Jr. and Oliver J. Peck; and four brothers, Benjamin A. Jessup, Ralph R. Jessup, Alvah D. Jessup and her twin brother Robert Jessup. Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Friday, February 9, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 628 Main Street, Stamford on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Stamford.
