Obituary of Frank Sainz

Frank Sainz, a 30 year resident of Darien, passed away Friday, May 20 at the age of 69. Frank was born July 1, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY and grew up there, graduating from Brooklyn College with a BS degree in mathematics. After attending graduate school at NYU, he joined the U.S. Air Force, and served proudly as a Captain, including a year in Vietnam as a weapons controller. Frank then entered the management training program of Chase Manhattan Bank where he spent 20 years, advancing to Managing Director of the Chase Investment Bank and a member of its Management Committee responsible for worldwide tax leasing. In 1987 Frank left Chase to join S.G. Warburg & Co's International Leasing Group as Managing Director where he was responsible for all aspects of U.S. domestic and cross border leasing. For the last ten years he was with Ridgewood Partners and more recently Knight Tallman Corporation, from which he retired. Frank was an avid golfer and a member of The Silvermine Golf Club in Norwalk, CT and The Lake Sunapee Country Club in New London, NH. He will be remembered for his keen sense of humor and sharp wit. Frank will be greatly missed by his wife, Lyn Carter Sainz, his two sons, Carter and Peter Sainz and his many friends and relatives. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 27 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Noroton Presbyterian Church, 2011 Post Road, Darien, CT.
