Obituary of James Weaver
We are Marilee Jacques and Sharon Weaver, and we would like you to know a little bit about our Dad, James "Jim" Weaver.
He was a lifelong Stamford resident, born June 25, 1922 to Eva and Horace Weaver. His school days were cut short due to the depression and yet he managed to provide nicely for his family. He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed his extended family. Our small house was always full.
He joined the Army Air Corp. in February 1942 and met his "bride" Doris at the U.S.O. in New Mexico. They were married 60 years. Jim worked at Norma Hoffman for 40 years and briefly at Pitney Bowes. He enjoyed bowling, golf, cards and handing out his plastic canvas signs.
Dad loved his family, his son-in-law Ed Jacques and especially his niece Libby. He was a character and will be missed. Jim was predeceased by his wife Doris, two sisters Mary and Peggy and two brothers Elon and Harold. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, all special to him.
The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Fairfield Memorial Park in Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. www.lawrencefuneralhome.com.
