Growing up, I was one of Leslie's best friends and very much one of Melanie's wafes! The Hackney's loved me & treated like family. I needed that kind of love back then, and I will never forget how kind, loving, charitable, and giving that was to me! Melanie was a great listener, a LOVING soul, a giving friend, and an extremely compassionate person! I still thank God often for putting her, Leslie and the whole family in my life. He knows what we need. Melanie, you will be greatly missed here on earth, but NEVER forgotten! You have served Heavenly Father well, now you can enjoy being back with him. Love you! Leslie, Larry and Heidi, I love you and am so sorry for your loss. I hope you find peace & comfort on God's love and that you can feel His loving arms surround you. Hugs, Cathy (Frogger)

Our deepest condolences on your loss. Even though I only meet Melanie a few times, you can tell she had a heart of gold, was deeply caring, and loved life. If we can all just have a bit of this in our lives, the world would be better.

We are deeply sadden to hear of this. Melanie was always a smiling face whenever I saw her and usually had a funny one liner that made me laugh. She will be sorely missed by many. I always went to articles first in the Sun. My thoughts are with her family and all the people she touched in the SERVPRO system. Rest in Peace.

So sorry to hear of the passing of my cousin Melanie. Prayers for Larry and all the family. I remember how she enjoyed the beach at Galveston when her family came to visit King and Katherine in Texas in about 1957.

Larry, Our hearts go out to you and your family. There are no words that we can offer which will comfort you and your family when a loved one has moved on. I know that she will continue to look down on her family and smile that "Melanie" smile. Trust that she continues to be with you and yours and always watching out. Melanie was a sweetheart, who always wore a welcoming smile. She was the shining light at work and always willing to help. I am better for having known her. She will be missed. Your friends, Jack and Helen Oliver and everyone here at our franchise.
