Eddie's Mom and mine were friends in Parkchester. When I arrived at West Point as a Plebe in 1957 Ed sought me out. He and his friend Paul Cerjan were there for me. While not in his life after West Point, from time to time we would communicate. His was a well lived life, filled with accomplishments, and with his family. I am honored and proud to have known him.
dear mrs. handler, sorry to hear of your husband's death. i am from parkchester , still here, and xaivier 58. he was a senior, 1st. lieutenant when i was freshman.we sometimes rode irt together.
Dear Jane' Nothing I write can communicate my sadness and heartbreak on the occasion of Ed's death even though I was well aware of the extraordinary physical challenges he faced throughout his lifetime. He never let them get in the way of a career of exceptional achievements which impressed me from the day I became involved with "The Bronx Project." On this most sorrowful occasion, I can only extend to you and your family, my deepest and heartfelt condolences and sympathy. You can take special pride and satisfaction that Ed was never confused or in doubt about your role in his success and survival and God has blessed both of you in this wonderful relationship forever.
