Obituary of Jack Tarantino

Jack Tarantino, 94, a resident of Norwalk and formerly of Darien, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at home with his loving family. He was born on August 25, 1923 in New York City to the late Giacoma and Henrietta Tarantino. He later moved to Stamford, CT.
During WW II, he served in the U.S. Army as a Medic with the 368th Engineer Regiment from 1943-1945.
In 1949, he married his true partner in life, Frances Crowley. They had been married for almost 68 years. In the evenings, he attended Barber School in New York City and graduated in 1951.
After their three children were born, they moved to Darien where he worked as a barber until he retired in 2003.
He was loved by all who knew him, a gentle soul. Jacks passing comes just nine months after the death of his beloved wife and best friend, Frances Tarantino.
He will be lovingly missed by his sons James (Katie) Tarantino, Jay Tarantino, daughter Jacqueline (John) Piro, daughter-in-law Sherry Tarantino and five grandchildren James, Jr., Joey, Sean, Brittany and Tom Tarantino. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. John R. C. Church, 1986 Post Road,, Darien. Entombment will be follow at St. John Cemetery, Darien.
