Obituary of Ann Blose Eydt
Please share a memory of Ann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ann Blose Eydt, of Rowayton, Conn., unexpectedly passed away on Dec. 13, 2017, at the age of 60 after overcoming breast cancer and acute leukemia, not once but twice, the past seven years. Ann was born on April 18, 1957, to Howard Blose and Marion Graham Blose. After graduating from New Canaan High School, she attended Purdue University and was active in the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority where she served as social chairman, a talent she excelled at throughout her life. In 1980, she married her best friends brother, Bob Eydt, and moved to Rowayton where they raised their children, Jeff and Bebz (Rebecca). Ann was an active member of the community serving in positions associated with her children's activities, fundraising for causes from preschool through their high school years. She was one of the first women to join the Rowayton Volunteer Fire Department and in 1997 she received the Chiefs Award for her dedicated service. She loved playing tennis, dancing, summers at Roton Point beach club, spending time with her family and many friends. Ann was full of laughter and love. She was a nurturing mother, wife and friend to all. She was the life of the party and the glue that held her family and friendships together. Her courage has been a source of inspiration for those in similar circumstances, and her help and guidance through their times of need is an example of the remarkable person that she was. She made everyone feel welcomed and touched the hearts of all those she encountered. She has left her mark in the community and will be deeply missed by many Rowayton, New Canaan and Darien residents. Ann is survived by her husband of 37 years, Bob; her children, Jeff and Bebz; her loving mother Marion Blose, of New Canaan; her brothers Dr. Stephen Blose, of Mill Valley, Calif., and Roger Blose, of Fairfield; parent-in-laws Marge and Fred Eydt; and her numerous nieces, nephews and sibling-in-laws. The Eydt and Blose families would like to extend their gratitude to Anns physicians and nurses at the Stamford Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering who showed compassion and care for her. A celebration of Anns life will take place on Jan. 12 at 3 p.m. at the United Church of Rowayton, 210 Rowayton Ave., Norwalk. The family requests attendees wear festive and colorful attire.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in her name to either Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Avenue, N.Y, N.Y, 10065. or Stamford Hospital, 1 Hospital Plaza, Stamford.
