Morris E. OBrien, 91, of Darien, beloved husband of Doris (Finley) OBrien for 67 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at CT Hospice in Branford, CT. He was born in Stamford on April 7, 1926 to the late Thomas and Margaret (Murphy) OBrien, and was a longtime Darien resident. Morris, known to many who loved him as "OBie" was a U.S. Navy Veteran and served in the Pacific during World War II. He worked as an electrician at Partridge and Rockwell Electric, which later became known as Vivian Electric of Greenwich. He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union. In addition to his wife, OBie is survived by his loving daughter, Mary (OBrien) Murray, and her husband, Bob, of Killingworth, CT, his grandchildren, Ryan and his wife, Julia, Megan, MaryKate, and Greg Murray and Eric OBrien. Morris is also survived by his sister, Betty (OBrien) Dellapolli, and his estranged children, Janice and Jim OBrien. OBie was preceded in death by his brothers Jack, Frank, Mark and George OBrien. Funeral service at Lawrence Funeral Home in Darien and burial will be private at St. John Cemetery in Darien for immediate family only.
