Obituary of Justine F. Dick

Justine F. Dick, beloved widow of John D. Dick, died peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2005 at Stamford Hospital. She was 83 years old. Justine was born on September 24, 1922 in Queens, NY to the late Henrietta and Charles Flynn. Justine worked for 10 years at Bankers Trust in New York City as a teller. She married John in 1947 and they spent over 50 happy years together. In 1949, they moved to Darien, CT where they built their home and raised their three children. Justine loved to quilt and was a member of the Goodwives Quilters in Darien. She was also a member of the Darien Boat Club and St. Thomas More R.C. Church. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her three children, Jonathan E. Deak of Fairfield, CT; Christopher J. Deak of Monroe, CT; and JoAnne Cavanaugh and her husband Dennis of Glastonbury, CT; and two grandchildren, Jenna and Liam Cavanaugh all of Glastonbury. She is also survived by her two sisters, Isabel Pfeiffer of Center Moriches, NY and Bernice Mensing of New Jersey. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, Darien on Friday, Octber 21, 2005. Burial was at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
