Obituary of Ann Ingersoll O'Gorman

Ann Ingersoll O'Gorman a recent resident of Norwalk, formerly of Darien, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 in Norwalk. Born on March 11, 1933 in Stamford, she grew up and raised her family in Darien. She was the daughter of the late Edna Pierce and Walter K. Ingersoll. She was 78. Ann graduated from Darien High School, class of 1951 and received an Associates Degree from Centenary College. She began her career in New York City at an interior design firm. Later in her life she worked as a legal secretary. Ann was gifted in the arts and music. She was an accomplished classical pianist who delighted friends and family with her talent. She also loved to do fashion drawings and sew. She is survived by her two daughters, Debra Ann O'Gorman Reich of Fairfield; Wendy Catherine O'Gorman Brooks of Devon, PA and three grandchildren, Allison Reich, Matthew Reich and Zachary Brooks. She is also survived by a sister, Paula Ingersoll Arnold of Glastonbury, CT and many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Sunday, December 4, 2011 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Darien. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Connecticut Affilitate, Inc., 5 Brookside Drive, P. O. Box 5022, Wallingford, CT 06492.
