Obituary of Thomas Matthew Daley

Thomas Matthew Daley died at Stamford Hospital on December 21, 2011. Husband of Sheila Ewing Daley, father of William M., Christopher, and Maria Daley, grandfather of nine. Son of Robert N. Daley and Catherine Foley of Wellesley, Massachusetts, he was born in Boston on August 15, 1941. Thomas Daley graduated from St. Sebastian's Country Day School in 1959 and from Boston College in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. He was a member of the New York Stock Exchange from 1967 to 1997 when he retired from Henderson Brothers where he worked as a Specialist. Thomas Daley was a member of Wee Burn Country Club and Noroton Yacht Club in Darien, Connecticut and co-owner of Barrett Bookstore since 1997. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road in Darien, CT from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 26th. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John RC Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien, CT at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2011. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien, CT. Contributions may be sent to the Community Fund of Darien, P. O. Box 926, Darien, CT 06820.
